Summer Advice |

Dear residents,
As the weather reaches high temperatures and higher temperatures expected, we would like to remind people to take a few simple steps to stay safe and well during hot conditions:
👵Check on vulnerable people: ensure that elderly or vulnerable neighbours are looked after, hydrated and their homes are cool enough for them.
🏠Protect your homes: Ensure that you do not leave windows or doors open, even if you are just popping out for a few minutes, lock and secure your property.
🐕Protect your pets: Do NOT walk your pets in the midst of the hot weather, walk them when it has cooled down either in the morning or later in the evening once the sun is not as intense.
🚗Do NOT leave anyone in the vehicle: Even for a short time, the temperatures can rise rapidly and become life threatening, particularly for pets, children and vulnerable elderly people.
⚠️FIRE: Avoid the use of fires in open spaces, ensure that you are using safe facilities and that disposable BBQs are safely disposed of.
Vehicles: avoid leaving valuables on display and car windows open. We can apppreciate that you may leave the windows ajar to let out some of the hot air, but just be considerate about what a potential thief may keep their eyes peeled for.
Take care,
PCSO 6158
